Character Profile; You tell me what you think.

The character is a young man with hopes and dreams. He knows exactly what he wants to do, and he knows he can do it. He knows his limits, and he knows what he's capable of. However, that never happens. After striking out on his own, things seem alright at first. However, as time goes by, things begin to break. It's one thing to not get anywhere, it's another to backslide entirely. All the goals he sets up keep moving farther and farther away, until they disappear entirely. Slowly, he begins to grow sadder and sadder, until he inevitably grows angry. However, there is nothing to be angry at. He knows he can be better, and he fights to be better. However, every foothold is taken away just as soon as it's within reach. The things he relies on start to disappear. People start to not be there to catch him. Finally, he gives up altogether. People "attempt" to encourage him by telling him how much worse things are for others. However, guilt is a poor motivator for a broken soul. The spiral continues. Lower and lower.

There you go. Chew on that. BTW, this blog is going public. Who knows how long. Maybe a few days. Maybe forever.

  1. Sounds pretty rough, when does the happy ending start?

  2. The happy ending starts as soon as I realize who he is, and she he goes. That's the advantage of a broken character. Because they are in pieces, you can put together a mosaic that shows what can be.
